I will push to Invest In Infrastructure That Works For Us and Fits our Town.

Experience Point:
As I mentioned in my bio, a few like-minded residents and I started a non-profit called Wicks Collective. What spurred us to do this - as it relates to smart infrastructure - was realizing how hard it can be to get projects off the ground. To qualify for grants and other outside funding, towns first need to invest in preliminary design work. But that design work (soft costs) is done at risk. If the grant doesn’t come through, the Town could end up spending tens of thousands of dollars - sometimes more - with “nothing” to show for it.
Wicks was formed to help solve that problem: you must spend money to get the money. So far, we’ve invested about 160 hours of schematic design into proposed traffic calming measures and gateway treatments on Lower Main Street. These proposals help move South Berwick toward the goals of our new Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Revitalization Plan.
Having led these efforts, and also having developed many connections at a number of Urban Planning and Engineering firms in New England area through my line of work at Sefco, I know how to move ideas from concept to reality.
As a Town Councilor, I will not only show up to meetings and cast votes - but I will also continue to work outside of the meetings in a hands-on manner to make this town look, feel, and operate better for everyone who enjoys our downtown, and to attract more small businesses at the same time.
